| Monsoon Mantrasilver curtains
 of rain gush-spill
 down the trunk of the
 coconut tree.
 the wind-breeze whistles
 flirtatiously
 at its swaying fronds.
 (nature's green-black performing
 ballerinas
 as twilight bursts
 forth.)

 and the stars -
 lanterns of the night sky,
 peep shyly through a
 lace
 of black scattered clouds.
 jasmine chaplets adorn the
 halo of the sickle-moon.
 thunder cracks
 fill the sundown
 horizon.

 all around me
parasols flower at a button snap.
 but I,
 clear of soul,
 dance to the rain-sounds
 symphony.

 the heart song,
 my soul's cadence.

 elysian Earth!
 monsoon fragrances
 explode
 within my being.
 my every breath and
 heartbeat, every
 slice of life,
 a piece of you.

 o, Heavens!
 gather me amongst the
 pleats of your pearly-grey
 cloak.
 let me explore the
 universe
 that is
 I.
