to that marvelous moon!

Let me lazily sit
in that crescent curve,
rocking back and forth cozily.

Let me enjoy the lovely view--
the softness...vastness
of a darkened sky
splattered with
sparkling diamonds
all around me.

Let me tilt back comfortably,
arm stretched out toward heaven
to connect a special dot-to-dot
star pattern.

Let songs of September
stir and settle in my hopeful heart.
