Overcast days trigger my primeval urge to hibernate

yet even while I dream of sun
the musical names of clouds dispel fear.

Altostratus translucidus streaks the beach at sunset.
Cirrocumulus undulatus is a mystery
of waves and ripples, aerial tides.

Cumulus humilis drifts through the memory of childhood,
companionable, puffy white wings, floating beside real angels.
