Vows
The vows we defy as roaming eyes
make their bed in the comfort of another
and infringe on the face of purity
holding contentment at bay,
drowning hope in the wake of
disbelief and shattered dreams,
broken veils and rent garments.
Wonders never cease to amaze
as freely I commit myself
to be made a fool.
Yet I'd gladly sacrifice my heart
if my heart were your destination,
and I shall fight, for I assume
that love was meant to die for.
