Day's twilight signature 
etches itself 
in heart's emotional landscape 
where there is no stirring. 

A profiled 
Great Blue Heron 
stands in perfect-stork position 
in slick-as-glass inlet waters 
which hold evening's 
pink clouds' reflections 
in warm regards. 

Thanksgiving Day 
salutes serenity - 
a peace which 
could never be 
for just one day. 

For this emotional landscape 
in my heart I yearn. 
For this state of peace 
I pray.
