Haiku Poetry
by Ken Johnson
The night sky twinkles.
Prehistoric points of light
Poke through our Present.
Cunning cat crouches;
Alert eyes in quiet fur;
Patience poised to strike!
Silent redwoods stand.
Centuries of braided time
Woven into wood.
Flat, rounded pebbles
Nestle in the shallow surf
Sanded smooth by time.
God radiates love
Without discrimination.
Life reverberates.
Tiny threads of love
Erect suspension bridges
Spanning difference.
Silent, steadfast shore
Restraining moody water;
Land defining sea.
Man and Woman join
Creation's inner circle;
Building love a home.
Twenty-six letters
Intermingle into words,
Giving thought a voice.
