Upon my cheek a breeze awakens me,
Your sleeping breath, as you beside me lay.
It surely is a dream ~ how can this be?
A lovely way to meet the break of day.
The warmth enfolding me, suffuse my frame,
It's just your loving arms that clasps me tight;
I feel the glowing embers burst to flame
Remembering our passion of last night.
I lie in total stillness with my mind
In conflict with my heart ~ a heavy strife.
One has, this moment to a dream assigned,
The other hopes it lasts throughout my life.
I stand behind my heart, I'm sure you knew:
None can compare awakening with you.
